Your business idea inspired this business idea: audiocasts!

People prefer to listen to podcasts in the background, eg while showering etc... My service would record an outloud reading of the transcript of existing podcasts so that people can listen to them. Like audiobooks, but for podcasts!

I've started playing it but I doubt it will last. Skong hard act to follow.

I am currently a fan of the _idea_ that they made a completely new, different, unique JRPG... Based on Dragon Quest. Like, it's a reboot. Or an homage? A celebration? Retelling? Dramatization?

That background could be DMG tho tbh

We need a new AAA games industry to replace the current one. The new AAA industry should be making big, delightful, little games.

I think we can see pretty clearly that AAA has forgotten how to make videogames. Most of the games on that list are like ten years old.

Ironically Call of Duty is actually pretty popular, eh? Now that I think about it, ok fine Call of Duty you get a pass. Everyone else though: fuck you, get out.

This guy gets it.

I don't know why but I immediately thought of this guy.

Setsunai -> setsunou

It's "tsurai" -> "tsurou" because he's old?

The virtuous shovelware!

As long as we're able to go back, dig down, replay the originals via emulation or whatever... Then I think I like it. It's possible that I like these remasters _more_ than I like anything else AAA is doing right now, at least conceptually.

I think it's good as a kind of "archival effort" in some sense, but I think also it lets a game like dragon quest become a myth. Mythopoesis. Generations of game developers will be able to tell the tale of dq1 to generations of rpg enthusiasts. Yes it will change in the retelling, but that's nice.

Yes and no! I used to be in this camp, but recently I feel like remaking a well loved game again and again is virtuous. To me it feels like the games industry equivalent of permaculture. The game is not a product, it is a tree that exists and bears fruit periodically. Wait, there's more!

Yeah same, it was inexplicable, ineffable.
