By the way, his pants have a slit with ruffles underneath. The "wings" are a separate element on the pants. I'd draw it to clarify, but I'm lazy (lol)
The wide leg style and the jewelry are supposed to be reminiscent of his original pants.

Hakuri's base design is more traditional than Kyora's, since he has the Haori. If Kyora is "aristo" then I guess Hakuri is ouji? Anyways I turned his haori into a small cape, then I remembered lapels existed, so...

...I was free to go wild with the blouse design. What a weird cut, amirite! But he looked naked with just the waistcoat, so I threw on a cape. I think he looks a little opera-y now.

Kyora was originally supposed to have a tailcoat to emphasize his status. That said, when I think of Kyora, I think of his vest and his gold-colored accessories, so i removed it in favor of a waist coat. Because he only has the waist coat...

I conceptualized Kyora alongside Hakuri because I wanted them to share a similar vibe. After all, they're father and son.
For Kyora, I wanted him to appear more...dramatic? Regal? Aristocratic? But in a more mature way than Hakuri.

The eyepatch naturally lead to a medical/menhera kind of thought process. I think oversized clothing is pretty popular in these subculs, hence I decided to give Sojo a jacket. Since it is removable, I could expose his back window by having it fall off his arms...

I think the hardest part about Sojo's design was coming up with a strong motif for him. Initially I went for an ouji-inspired outfit, but ruffles and bows don't feel Sojo at all. Honestly, I don't know what his outfit communicates in the end.

To avoid treading on Shinobu Kocho's design, I decided to make the "butterfly" apparent in the haori's shape rather than pattern. The centipede scarf is actually a character design element I've used before for an old OC.

For each outfit, I wanted to incorporate every Magatsumi insect and some kind of flower. Some of these motifs are subdued depending on the character for clarity's sake. Can you spot the dragonfly, spider, centipede, butterfly, and flower for each character?

I created the template from scratch and made each box in the grid its own layer from 1-16- a separated ver and one where the boxes are touching. I drew the busts like normal within the grid canvas size and then sliced them up...kinda messy, but if you want the .psd, let me know!
