Wow. Found that my GPU has been limited to PCI-E 4.0 x1, despite being in an x16 port! I wondered why performance hadn't got better at all after upgrading my CPU. Took today using GPU-Z to see it.
It was the jumper extension cable I was using for it... Plugged directly in, and now get x16... Wow.
