Imagining our future has always been challenging but is important now than it’s ever been. Complex shifting landscapes across many variables - recognising our human lives cannot be separated from our environment has never been more important.

What will future generations make of of choices today?

Again we see impossible tensions for our future - cities will look to reduce urban vegetation to reduce fire risk, yet we rely on this vegetation for cooling and removing it makes us more vulnerable to heat.

No place is immune from the catastrophic extreme events that will define our future. Climate change is not selective in its impacts - the global climate is changing and all of us will feel this.

And feel this through weather events we have never seen before.

It’s winter in the USA. Wildfires in winter.

It’s a big city.
Wildfires in urban areas.

They ran low on water.
In winter. In a big city.

Power was stretched.

Perhaps they were less well prepared for events that have never been experienced? #unprecedented

I believe it matters and its important - even our flawed, polarised and dysfunctional system. I want to help people and planet - so wish things were better in our private worlds too.
