Struggling with writer's block on a new script. I'm uncomfortable w/ where it's going so I'm getting in my own way. I typed this (below) at the top of my screenplay. Then I wrote the flashback that made the character who she is. Might not make the cut, but it will be its blood. #screenwriting #film

Text screen shot: One Moore, the first black deputy sheriff for the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office in Varnado, LA, murdered 2 June 1965 by alleged members of The Ku Klux Klan in a drive by shooting one day after his landmark appointment as deputy sheriff. Murder remains unsolved.

Just looking up some cold case files for some research. Came across this one and had a sinking feeling we're back there.
Text about Louis Allen who was shot 31 Jan, 1964 on his Mississippi farm. He was an African American who attempted to vote and was willing to talk to investigators about the 1961 murder of another black Liberty resident by a white legislator. The Sheriff Daniel Jones was suspected, but denied it in a 2011 television interview.

I have a pet ladybug. She arrived before Christmas. After returning from holiday she was sitting on a banana I cut & left out overnight. This is her habitat: my fave Mexican dessert dish, paper towel soaked in water, petrified banana slices. She gets fresh ones every now and then.
