Sam Huntington's Clash of Civilizations theory has been around since the 90s, & it's been invoked anytime something like this happens. It's also been thoroughly shredded in both pre & post 9/11 academic lit. I wrote my undergrad thesis on this and idiots like Miller who invoke this bigoted worldview

I've been reading your pieces regularly and this is on a whole different level. Really an excellent and informative assessment of the landscape as a whole while also recommitting to your own journalistic integrity. Thank you for writing this.

I think everyone is ok with this until some folks realize that "human beings" don't need to look, act, sound, or live the same as them. That's when people start losing their minds.
