We know there was a lot of aerial retardant application. The extreme fire behavior limited ground crew access over large areas and time periods.

The fire was in 2022 so these are current products.

Retardant is very toxic to aquatic organisms (similar to fertilizer) so guidelines stipulate a buffer around waterways.

It seems that we haven’t really evaluated product safety, even in the EIS:
