I think people are mistaken in saying "oh no, people will starve!" and I don't think that's what is going to happen at all. People will eat. But a lot of rent and car payments and other things will go unpaid, and then we'll all find out it isn't only poor people living "paycheck to paycheck."

This is wrong, and, as a software developer, embarrasingly irresponsible. In the future when software development is professionalized it won't be an acceptable thing for a software engineer to believe. If that would filter you from the industry, sobeit.

In general yes, if nonviolent organization were inherently inferior to violence democracies (or probably language) wouldn't have developed. Still, nonviolence has yet to remove a single fascist regime. Not to say whatever happens to the US won't make history, conditions are unique for sure!

The very best outlook is bleak from this point.
