Hudson River ice report: nearly frozen over at the Hamilton Fish Bridge with a patch of water near the western bank and narrow channels under the bridge. Appears to be totally solid further downstream near the Newburgh Waterfront. Two crows flew over, enjoying the warmer temp (27F).

Hudson River ice report: solid ice coverage over most of the river with a couple of watery areas in the center. A majestic juvenile bald eagle soared over, no other birds out on this cold (16F) afternoon.

Hudson River ice report: ice slabs continue to build up, to be smashed by the tide as it retreats. Few clear spots left after the temp plummeted yesterday. The shards make a great crunching sound as the wind and tide pile them up along the bank. Few birds out, saw a pair of hawks briefly.

Hudson River ice report: Lots of floating ice slabs, with a large clear channel on the east side. The surface on the western side is a mosaic of broken ice dusted with snow. Bonus photo of 2 bald eagles who posted up in a nearby spruce yesterday.

RIP David Lynch. Thank you for the creepiest episode of television ever made.
