The scariest bug in production?
Accidentally exposing sensitive data!

Don't just hope you filtered your objects.
Enforce it at the type level!

Here's how TypeScript's Pick utility type acts as your security guard. It lets you create a "safelist" of properties.

I'm still using vscode.

I've tried other editors, like cursor or zed but I'm a fan of the minimal settings I have.

plus, there's the power of familiarity + the extensions I use.

Solved a super tricky bug yesterday.
- While dev runs on Node 18, prod runs on Node 16 due to some Ubuntu compat issues.
- I wrote a feature using fetch (native), and it broke in prod as fetch was undefined.
- Imported node-fetch to solve this bug, and a GET req started failing.

Happy Mother’s Day to anyone who’s ever been a mom or mom-figure!

The world needs 14 clones of you but until we find a way to do that ethically, I hope every day of your life is filled with beautiful moments where ppl show you how very much you’re appreciated & tell you that your booty is growing 😏

I don’t know if this is the pinnacle or the nadir of human ingenuity, but I just received an email offering “DSAAS” (domain squatting as a service).

Is @discord.com app down for anyone else? Just me?

discordstatus.com claims all is honky dory, but chats won’t load on the desktop or mobile app for me.

A big surprise for me on becoming an adult was realizing that empathy (seeing things from other people’s perspective) and understanding cause & effect (if I do X, the natural consequence is Y) did not come naturally for many people.

I still wonder if these gaps are a nature or nurture problem.

Some of the most used software in the world is made by a bunch of developers who pieced their solutions together with the help of YouTube, blog articles, coding forums, and asking for help from other developers.

Don't feel bad if you have to ask questions or need help!

Watching Squid Game Season 2 made me SO mad - and also helped cement the decision to stop watching series altogether.

It’s a good series… deliberately unfinished.

Made me realize I needn’t waste hours of my time watching something designed to simply be a trailer for the next season

2024 has been quite the year. Incredible growth personally, and was able to hit a few life milestones.

Here’s looking forward to an even better 2025.

Squid Game S2, bravo!

Now, that’s how you extend the story of a character who has already had a complete arc, without diminishing the earlier arc.

Great show, can’t wait for the next season.

Christmas often makes me reflect on America as a “nation of immigrants.”

The holiday centers on family, and as immigrants, we sacrifice being with loved ones back home for the promise of a better life here.

This sacrifice self selects for people with drive.

Merry Christmas to all! 🎄
