You won’t begin to believe in yourself immediately, but just keep exposing your brain to these positive thoughts overtime and you can rewire your brain. It’s just like lifting weights, you won’t see results immediately, but you’re still making progress.

Thoughts like, “I’m not good enough” and “I’m not worthy of love” feel like truth because you have told yourself that for so long. Take some time everyday to challenge those thoughts. Imagine you’re your own defense attorney and present evidence proving they are not true.

She let me push her mechanical vacuum around her house, and do other little chores for her. This was a big deal for me because I was a sick, little kid that often felt weak and useless.

She taught me that being weak, or having moments of weakness isn’t such a bad thing. 🧵

I wonder if the fever (or other immune response accompanied by the fever) during/after an overload is the body’s way of regulation. It senses things are getting out of control so it uses a fever to calm things down.

I would rest for a few days and feel better, just like you do when fighting an infection so I never questioned it.

There’s also been anecdotal evidence that some autistic behaviors lessen during fevers. 🧵

Having the knowledge of what it is makes it less scary and I can’t help but laugh about how silly I must look with my wobbly legs. The skills usually comeback within a couple of hours, but may be diminished for days. 🧵2/3
