Over the past days, students and I made a collective drawing of the old college for Grounds of Protest in Colonial Debris.108 years ago, Balfour signed his declaration — perhaps in an office not far from mine.
These histories still shape what silence and resistance mean today.

The Shared island unit- Masters of Architecture fieldtrip @esala roaming the watersheds of Lough Foyle. We kayaked its edges , held its inhabitants, probed its controversies - continually questioning the 1910 border. Images - Lough Foyle agency; ‘far and wild’; fish lists; oysters and mobouy dump.

Now that the UN Commission, chaired by a judge who headed the tribunal in Rwanda, has affirmed that Israel is perpetrating genocide on 4 different grounds, will we hear from those who dismissed, and in some cases denigrated, colleagues for raising the alarm? www.theguardian.com/world/2025/s...

Here is my paper that engages with the racial-spatial politics of conservation and colonial legacies of architectural discourse. I examine how architecture - past and present - is used by certain actors to commodify, exoticize and capture Rwanda’s landscapes. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

Finally got hold of Cities Under Siege (Documenta11, 2002). Our exhibit echoes Ibrahim Abdullah’s essay on Freetown’s segregated settlement patterns and the colonial logic behind Hill Station’s ‘climatic estate.’

Project with @RIBA overlaps with Liverpool Biennial @Tate, theme of 'Bedrock'. The colonial housing project at Hill Station resonate with this theme through its geological impulse—specifically rejecting the local terrain, deemed a breeding ground for malaria. www.tate.org.uk/visit/tate-l...
