I think that because of the long duration of the illness, leading to its death, it's ok to talk about it. It was multimorbidity, starting with chronic evangelist fundamentalism. An acute case of Citizens United, with complications by morbus Fox News and Heritage Founditis led to the drawn-out death.

Replacing history with Brand Management used to be so much more subtle. I've had to unlearn a lot of false “facts” taught to me in my early schooling and church days. MAGA seem to be embracing that style of indoctrination as a way of life…as core American Culture.
