I have lots of shoes I don't wear, two mini lions, an obsession with most things Italian, and a quirky sense of...something. With occasional and quite random photos.
we're full of "this cat makes a terrible scale figure with holiday decorations" this year 😹

cat makes a lousy scale figure 😹

it is a truth universally acknowledged that the posts that get the most attention are also rife with typos 😹

Thankful to live in a time where fleece-lined leggings exist. I mean, it's warm here by the fire, so I don't "need" them, but they's so damn soft.

I just saw a thing questioning whether black-and-white cats (monkeys) are stupid, or just incredibly charismatic and manipulative with a bit of crazy mixed in. I am here to tell you it's not the first thing.

“Come See Me In The Good Light” helps us understand the immensity of what we lost with the death of Colorado Poet Laureate Andrea Gibson.

It’s streaming on Apple TV. Maybe the holiday gives you time to watch.

Wednesday on Colorado Matters, I’ll speak with Andrea’s friend Tig Notaro, a co-producer.

in other news, Disney is coming out with a movie about a cat in Venice, which combines my only two interests beautifully 😹 #gatto

great news! The ugly bruise on my little toe (that I got from walking across a room) is making the scar on my foot (that I got from cooking while barefoot) almost disappear! 😎

rough life for a sassy kitten 😹

Monkeycat weighed himself this morning and seems unaffected by his holiday weight gain, or the paw prints he left on my fancy scale.

It failed to measure his bone mass and fat percentage, though. 😹

Babycat has joined the pouf! (Kitten perch in front of the fire.) And a good day was had by all. 😻

Happy Thanksgiving!

(Maybe take a break from political talk and enjoy a bit of pie. 😘)

(Started my day with a raspberry cream pie, and I'm feeling warm and grateful by the fire.)

(Monkeycat is also warm and cosy by the fire.)

“what movie did you see too young?” is a great/awful Thanksgiving discussion prompt

apparently it's mentally unstable to drink your first diet coke of the day pre-11am...

I am officially a wacko! and not for any of the 10,348 other reasons I thought it might be! 😘

meanwhile, monkeycat is inordinately pleased that so many of his furs survived the wash and dry cycle :(

Simply, profoundly heartbreaking.
“When you are dying, at least in my limited experience, you start remembering everything.” Tatiana Schlossberg, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy, writes about receiving a terminal diagnosis. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/4SkkDI
A Battle with My Blood
When I was diagnosed with leukemia, my first thought was that this couldn’t be happening to me, to my family.

Can't get up if there's a kitten snuggled on your lap, we all know, but we never talk about the other thing: that we can never vacuum because somewhere there's a kitten all snuggled up and cute and to disturb them would be evil. 😹

The committee that settled on the phrase “underscoring his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy” should be dissolved and its members compelled to take a remedial course on the scientific method.
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.
RFK Jr. Says He Instructed CDC to Change Vaccines and Autism Language on Website
In an interview, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cited gaps in vaccine safety research. His critics say he is ignoring a larger point: Vaccines save lives.

My hot take on Olivia Nuzzi is that she seems to be alone in thinking those Nineties-era pencil-thin eyebrows were a good thing.

And apparently Keith Olbermann is still really, really creepy.

My brother's best friend died Sunday morning. The obituary lists my brother and a couple others among the family left behind, as "friends who became family." Incredibly sweet thing to do. But I am not okay.
