There are more than 10m children in school in the UK…but, per Times, 3,000 might move to state sector because of VAT rise…so Whitehall is “braced” 😲😲😲

Says a lot about UK media bubble, the way this story is reported.

You pay VAT on luxuries. Private schooling is that.

Another elf is in need of your help!…
Can you help find our lost #Christmas expedition elf?

He was searching for a Medieval Manor with links to the Sheriff of Kent!

If you find him, the special gift he was carrying is all yours to keep and cherish.

Our Society Elves have gotten lost, seeking out ancient Kentish treasures! Can you help find them? They might have a little gift for you if you can!
Keep your eyes on our social media for clues as to where they were last seen…
We sent our elf expedition out to look for the festive history of Kent, but in their excitement they've managed to get themselves lost!

Can you help the society find them? If you do you can keep the replica Roman coin they carry as a reward.

Send us an 's'Elfie with where you find them and tag us!

Solved! Who needs ancient genetics and contextual data!
All about the aliens! ;)
A meteorite landed at Danebury hillfort during the Iron Age while it was occupied?!

This explains everything!

Clearly some extraterrestrial menace drove the occupants insane, compelling them to fill their storage pits with the remains of the dead, making no distinction between human and animal.
Archaeologists excavated a meteorite at Danebury hill fort in 1974, but it's true nature wasn't discovered until 1989. 🧪 🏺

On my run today, as I jogged through an Iron Age Hillfort, I looked up to see two white stags staring down at me from the ramparts!
I wonder what the ancients would have made of it?
Sadly I couldn’t get my phone out quickly enough to take a photo before they dashed off, but caught a distant shot. 🦌

Fascinating #findsfriday
It's #findsfriday!

Below is a possible late 18th century 'Witch Bottle' dated by its decoration to c. 1790 CE

You can explore a 3D model of the jug (minus its base) on our Sketchfab - skfb.ly/pssKy. It's being X-rayed on Monday!
