Libraries purchase books. When you see a book at the library, it isn’t “free”

the library bought it.

which in turn means that the community bought it.

In other words, library books are not lost sales for authors and publishers; they’re positive sales. Active sales. Those are bought.

This is why I am so vehemently down on people scaremongering the trans community. The assault on the trans community is one on our dignity, trying to drive us to suicide. Scaremongering does their work for them.

Repeat after me: I am too punk to kill myself when my government wants me to.
In the case of trans people, I think most of this Administration would be plenty happy if they drove us to suicide or to voluntarily detransition. They're lazy, they're focused on optics and le epic owns, and even where they are marshalling state capacity (ICE, et al) they're at a breaking point.

Cwej is on every cover of the Cwej: the Series paperbacks, which includes And Today, You. And if you haven't seen that cover, please go look, and then go read it and find out that I'm right lol.

Consider reading and supporting my work, which was not written by a nepo-baby who had an affair with notorious dismantler of public health RFK for some goddamn reason, which feels like it should give me an edge on Olivia Nuzzi.

Plus I've heard my stories are fun.

I just released my "Brief Guide to Writing Short Fiction." It's a solid guide to writing short stories and more; and has a special focus on Sword and Sorcery stories.

It costs $10, which, as a set of instructions to write stories you can sell, is rather inexpensive.

Like and share. That helps!

"One of the first people to make public allegations against now-deceased billionaire child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was Ava Cordero, a transgender Latina woman. Cordero, a model, was transphobically mocked in the media after she filed an October 2007 lawsuit"
When a trans woman first accused Jeffrey Epstein of rape, the media mocked her - LGBTQ Nation
The New York Post called her a "man" and a "gender-bend shocker."

I’m going to think about watching this moment unfold in real time for a long time.

for all the horrors coming out of Chicago and its metro area, the principled courage of everyday people, in the face of such intimidation, never ceases to astonish. www.chicagotribune.com/2025/11/12/k...

Also, at some point, cis people are going to have to start confronting that the defence of paedophiles and the campaign against trans people escalating simultaneously and on the same trajectory is not a coincidence, at all.
As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

probably the biggest example of this is people going off about “Jesus not existing”

he absolutely did. we know he did, beyond shadow of a doubt. argue all you want about theology and whether he was The Messiah, but Jesus of Nazareth absolutely was a real person

Something I do wish non-historians would internalise is that (modern) historians are not (generally) just making shit up. We do in fact have sources and evidence and proof of things which have happened in the past

Right, this event needs $1500 to happen. There are 600 participating bookstores & for most it’s their busiest sales day of the year, or is second only to Indie Bookstore Day / Small Business Saturday.

Editors/publishers, this is a no-brainer of an opportunity for your imprint. Romancelandia: pls RT
I'm gonna be real-real here: Bookstore Romance Day may not happen in 2026. By this time of year, I've usually secured at least a handful of sponsors & their backing helps pay for things like newsletter services & Canva & Zoom & internet, all of which are needed for planning & off-season events.

She can survive posting that Halloween skeletons are insensitive to grieving people because she isn't posting for clout. She's posting because those are her genuine (insane) thoughts and she doesn't care if you think she's right or wrong.

I saw someone say that Musk could easily clap back at Oates by pointing out the weird things she's posted if he was smarter, but I don't think that would work. This is getting under Musk's skin because he wants people to love him, while Oates doesn't care what anyone thinks about her.
