“We interviewed a lot of students and they still kind of didn’t know what librarians do,” Whitaker said. “They kind of had these stereotypical, ‘Oh, a librarian is like a cat lady in a cardigan that’s going to assist me.’..."

One of my great joys has been forming a Queer Book Club. We started in the middle of the Spring 2024 semester with Hell Followed with Us. There have been great discussions with students about the books we've read so far! This month's book is The Book Eaters by @sunyidean.com.

Used the 20th anniversary of Howl's Moving Castle as an excuse to test hosting a watch party! Attendance okay for Nov. Students filtered in throughout the 2+ hour movie

Now we just have to regain control of the light switches in this room to be able to dim or turn out the lights 🫠🫠🫠

There are many Star Trek episodes that I continue to come back to. As we continue to talk about AI, I think often about Data and the S2Ep9, The Measure of a Man.

As AI becomes more advanced, when will we start having these conversations? The future is going to be wild!

Comics Plus is only possible thanks to library-friendly publishers who truly value reaching readers through libraries and schools, and this starter pack includes all of them we've found here on Bluesky so far. (If we missed you, let us know.)

Well... I finally made it over here. Guess it's time to start talking about all my favorite things - books, libraries, more books... oh, and Star Trek.
