I was in Target today and I saw Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and read it as “Bowser’s furry” and I thought “well no, he would be a scalie” and I’m afraid I cannot recover from this.

A metal legend has passed away today. At the Gates is arguably the most influential melodic death band of all time (certainly next to In Flames and Dark Tranquility). Without them, an entire era of bands might not be around. Metalcore as we know it now started it's next wave in the early 00s 1/?

I know its a hot take, but I definitely think Slip It In is Black Flag's best album. The title track (and the album opener) is iconic. You're Not Evil is excellent and the constant slow-fast dynamics are great. Really solid effort all around.

There are no real amount of words to state how large of an impact Ozzy had on the world on music. We experienced a terrible loss today. One of the first artists anyone associates (myself included) to the words "heavy metal". Its hard to explain how much of an impact he had on my tastes early on. 1/3
