Mockler: It's honestly humiliating that other countries are treating our president like a child, like a baby. It's like if I created a peace prize and I gave it to myself. I'm like, I'm just going to keep this medal on all night. Our president is an actual child

When you can’t afford health insurance just remember that Sen. Kaine is sleeping well
Tim Kaine on backlash he's getting: "I got the first good night's sleep last night that I've gotten since Oct 1, b/c I wasn't worried about being able to look Capitol Police in the eye when I walked in, or what a furloughed fed worker would say to me at church, or what somebody would say about SNAP"

Love hearing an NPR reporter repeat Vought's line about "unconstitutional DEI principles" with nary a query about what the fuck that actually means. At some point we need journalists to make this administration explain some of these batshit utterances.

This is not a fight about tax credits.

This is a fight over your ability to go to a pharmacy and afford your insulin.

We have the chance to protect the health care of millions of Americans. We need to take it.

The past week has left an indelible stain on Brendan Carr, which will haunt him for the rest of his hopefully short career in politics.

In a more perfect world, Carr would resign for violating his oath to defend the Constitution. Barring that, he must be hauled before Congress & made accountable.

Kavanaugh's statements make the problem worse, not better. If the reason SCOTUS is using cryptic shadow docket orders is because "five" of them can't "reach a consensus or a compromise on a particular issue that might be difficult," then that order should not be precedential —there's no majority.
Brett Kavanaugh says there’s a good reason Supreme Court rulings can sometimes be so cryptic
In remarks to a judicial conference, Kavanaugh also defended Chief Justice John Roberts.

REALITY CHECK: Under the U.S. Constitution, states are responsible for regulating elections, while Congress has the power to enact national election laws.

The President does not have unilateral authority to impose new voting rules like nationwide voter ID requirements.
Trump says he will order voter ID requirement for every vote
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he will issue an executive order to require voter identification from every voter.

The issue with Texas isn’t gerrymandering. Both parties gerrymander where they can. They always have. But they’ve always waited to do it at the end of each decade, with each census. The issue with Texas is they are gerrymandering MID-DECADE. Which would set a terrible precedent.

REALITY CHECK:

Texas Democrats earn 45% of the vote—but under the GOP’s new gerrymandered map, they’d get just 21% of the seats.

That’s not representation. That’s rigging the system.
