Surprisingly, the version you hear is the first time the band ever performed it. The Drummer improvised his part when Gord pointed at him to start. They tried multiple times to better it but none did.

Yeah at #4. I have to admit I don't hate this song. I SHOULD but I don't. I remember them performing it and people dressed as giant rats were on stage with them. Yeah that was bad

Favorite Steve Miller story: teenage Steve approaching a band at a show, looking for a gig. While the band was setting up on stage (or between songs,) Steve flatly told the presumed leader "I'm a better guitarist than anyone in the band - and that includes you." I believe they took him in! #AT40
