The first day of the #Crystallography in School workshop at #ECM35 was dedicated to presentations and demo sessions. It was special to see a large attendance of high school teachers at a site of historical significance, as Max von Laue, a Nobel laureate, studied there in the late 19th century.

From @apoethig.bsky.social,‬ [2]rotaxanes with enhanced reactivity (@jacs.acspublications.org).

These rotaxanes were shown to deprotect faster compared to non-interlocked structures due to conformational preorganisation.

Thrilled to share our new @J_A_C_S paper: A bulky macrocycle enhances (not hinders!) functional group reactivity in a [2]‑rotaxane. Including definition and rationalization of this positive mechanosteric effect.

Spotlight on Mechanosterics: A Bulky Macrocycle Promotes Functional Group Reactivity in a [2]Rotaxane
Macrocycles typically hinder the reactivity of adjacent functional groups in mechanically interlocked molecules due to steric shielding. Herein, we report a [2]rotaxane in which a bulky macrocycle in ...

Thrilled to share that after more than five years of fascinating yet complex research, our article on Metalloenzyme-like Organometallic Nanotubes is out!

A huge thank you to my brilliant co-authors, collaborators, and everyone who contributed to this journey.

Endohedral Coordination of Bulky Substrates in Metalloenzyme‐like Organometallic Nanotubes
Artificial receptors inspired by metalloenzymes share three key properties: a structurally flexible cavity, substrate binding via metal–ligand coordination, and metal-based redox activity. Herein, we...
