Grants writing tips: (1) Rejections are totally normal, have faith in your idea, push it and improve it; (2) Every panel is different. Study it and prepare your grant for them; (3) Grant-writing takes months. Plan it and get diverse feedback and (4) Have fun with it! The work there is never wasted 😜

Lately it has been demonstrated the essential role of organelle-organelle contacts. Here @jcellsci.bsky.social shows beautifully the main methods to investigate them :) ... although I believe Expansion microscopy can also help for that!

Every spike in this photo is a single crystal💠 — an ordered atomic array grown layer by layer. These crystals of transition metal chalcogenide halide doesn’t occur naturally; we built it atom by atom⚛️. Single crystals, which are always chemically pure, allow us to characterise physical properties
