In-game achievements can reduce your game’s median playtime!

And that’s not even a joke. Here is the story.
- In playtests it was ~30 minutes
- After releasing the demo it dropped to 4 minutes, and then to 3

Highlights:
- 99% of the logic in Blueprints
- 2 months after launch, had 50 wishlists
- Entered Next Fest with 10k wishlists; fest added +10k
- 35k wishlists by release
- No marketing at all

Well... Hollow Knight is certainly an interesting phenomenon.

In the light of the upcoming release of Silksong, the online of the original jumped 10 times.

Also currently there is an issue with big gaps after a lot of windows position changes. Duno how to solve it properly.

I don't want to constantly change z-index of all blocks. Probably, will do it with big heartbit from time to time 🤔

A simple shader hides the cat if there are windows in front of where he is currently walking.

There are, however, some issues with the window borders. Unity editor doesn't have it 🤔

I'll fix it later, when I understand where these offsets come from.

Code Monkey shared thoughts on whether it's really possible to make a living from indie games. An interesting retrospective.

What struck me the most (and made me a bit sad), that he now makes more money from courses and YouTube than from games — so that’s where he focuses efforts.

Drawing UI myself for a change. Tweaking pixels in Aseprite is fun — almost meditative — but setting up the interface prefabs in Unity is still just as off-putting =/
