On October 9, we hosted our first listening session in Princeton, New Jersey to collect input on what a future National Asian Pacific American Museum could look like. Thank you to Princeton Public Schools for co-hosting, and to the community leaders and volunteers who helped make the event possible.

This month, we’re excited to launch our national listening tour – gathering input to shape our congressionally mandated report on the creation of a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture.

Over the coming months, our Commission will engage the Asian Pacific American community nationwide, consulting with leading experts and institutions, and assessing key considerations–including site locations in our nation’s capital, costs, and operations of the future museum.

🧵 In 2022, Congress created @apamuseum.bsky.social and charged us with laying the groundwork to establish the first national museum dedicated to preserving and honoring the rich history and contributions of Asian Pacific Americans.
