Navigating people, politics, and the occasional tea spill—proud pet mummy, plant whisperer, knitting enthusiast, satire fan and professional plate spinner (sometimes all at once).

Tiriti o Waitangi centric-organise, plan and educate for a one term govt.
Govt latest: China sends navy ships into the Tasman Sea, and NZ gets no heads-up. It’s like the neighbour throwing a party, and you’re left standing outside wondering why no one invited you. Is it that tourism plan? Diplomacy 101, National—seriously?

No one’s talking to the coalition! #NZPol

Today, Minister Brooke van Velden speaks at 8:30 AM on her bill allowing employers to dock 10% of workers’ pay during partial strikes—without proof of lost output. A direct attack on workers’ rights, especially young and low-wage workers. This bill must go. #NZPol

I agree with you. It is hard to sell the merits of unionism in 300 characters. If one thing this govt has taught anyone… be a union member

Violence, intimidation, and hate aren’t a ‘real man’ issue—they’re a people issue. Framing decency as a masculine trait misses the point. Respect, compassion, and standing up for others should be the standard for everyone, no qualifiers needed.

Chris Hipkins’ ‘real men’ take is off the mark.

The govt’s funding freeze is an act of cruelty—doctors warn it’s causing severe & unnecessary harm. This isn’t just neglect, it’s a deliberate choice. #DisabilityCrisis #EndTheFreeze #FundTheSector #HealthCrisis #Aotearoa

Happy Waitangi Day? For my lifetime, it’s been a public holiday—that only started in 1974. Before then, it wasn’t a day off—it was a day of resistance. Maybe that’s still the real meaning. Not barbecues or beach trips, but showing up, speaking out, & holding the Crown to account. #TeTiriti #NZPol

We’ve seen this before—tight budgets, big promises, and public services on the chopping block. Treasury warns deficits could last until 2031, the longest since National’s ‘90s austerity era. Nicola Willis calls it discipline, but who really pays?

This Waitangi Day, ask yourself: Do we truly value justice, or only when it serves us? Do we challenge power, or stay silent to keep the peace? Are we building a future we can be proud of, or one we’ll defend with excuses? Change begins with honest reflection—are we ready for it?

As legacy political parties descend on Waitangi, seeking absolution and legitimacy for their policies—

They tell us we are all one people. We were never one people.
They tell us the Treaty is settled. The Treaty is not settled.
They tell us to move on. We are still here.

Mon– TPB hearings start. Māori rights under fire.
Tue – PM’s Statement. Luxon says plenty, means little.
Wed– Winston offends allies, govt lifts speed limits.
Thurs– TPB hearings- fACT lies, Taranaki Maunga gains personhood.

It’s only Jan.

Hobson’s pledge missed their Treaty Principles Bill spot because they didn’t check their emails.

Irony alert: fighting modern Treaty rights with 1840 energy but can’t handle 2025 tech. Maybe they’ll try submitting via smoke signal next time- seems more on brand.

Bigger than a referendum, bigger than references to Te Tiriti—it’s about safeguarding the future. Cost of living to Māori rights, legacy parties have failed tangata whenua and tangata Tiriti. The only safeguard is a one-term government and leaders who truly honour Te Tiriti. #TeTiriti #OneTermGovt

Understanding the fight for justice starts with Māori voices. From Ranginui Walker to Ani Mikaere, these books don’t just tell our story—they demand change.

Te Tiriti is more than a history lesson—it’s our call to action.

The governments “refreshed focus” spin is headline-chasing, not leadership. While whānau grapple with soaring costs, & silence on Māori priorities speaks volumes. We deserve a government that tackles the cost of living head-on and honours Te Tiriti. #ToituTeTiriti #NZPol

The two legacy parties have been pillars of Aotearoa’s politics for decades, but their dominance now feels like inertia, not leadership.

Their idea of change is tired—recycling old ideas and repeating past mistakes. Over it.

Why is it called Wellington? After a British duke who never came here, erased Te Whanganui-a-Tara, rich in Māori history and meaning. On this anniversary, let’s reflect: how do we honour the stories of this land and its people? Aotearoa deserves names that connect, not colonise. #TeWhanganuiATara

The coalition of blokes strikes again—Cabinet is just 26.9% women, down from parity in 2023. Spain, France, and Canada lead with 50%+. Worse for Māori woman. Aotearoa deserves better than this boys’ club.

Time to fix this. Get em out

Luxon’s reshuffle might be his masterstroke… in losing the next election.

Demoting Dr Reti, a qualified doctor, while handing health to Simeon Brown—who finds bilingual signs confusing. Health is a bit tougher than roads, Simeon.

Expertise? Nah. Representation? Not today.

Moving the deck chairs won’t fix poor polls for National. Another Māori, another doctor gone—Reti out, Simeon in. Save our health system—Simeon couldn’t even save his train set. Voters want real solutions, not theatre. Time for substance on housing, health, and cost of living. #nzpol #onetermgovt

Te Tiriti isn’t just history—it’s the blueprint for an equitable Aotearoa. Treaty Principles, Regulatory Standards—these aren’t just debates, they’re about shaping a future where everyone thrives. Let’s demand legislation that upholds Te Tiriti, not dilutes it. #TeTiriti #PolicyMatters #nzpol

Somewhere, a PM staffer is on their 5th cup of coffee, staring at a blank page thinking, ‘How do I make Happy New Year sound like the State of the Nation speech?’ It needs to say something without saying too much—and definitely can’t mention the Treaty Principles Bill or submissions.
#nzpol
January 16, 2025 at 7:52 AM
Over 300,000 submissions on the Treaty Principles Bill, 20,000 on the Regulatory Standards Bill—clearly, Kiwis are fed up. This isn’t consultation; it’s a public revolt with footnotes. People are taking democracy into their own hands. Submissions are just the start—this movement is far from over.
