Probably outside, hiking or reading.
Gravity and climbing keep me grounded.

The book I’m reading has chapters named after 90’s songs. Being a DMB fan, this made me a little giddy.

Without a doubt, I would be happier off the grid in a cabin with a wood stove and a couple feet of snow. Like one of those holiday movies that used to make me cringe as I sarcastically picked them apart over sappy romanticism. 🕊️

Friday night headspace. Dreaming of 2026 concert dates on my calendar. I may have to sell my left kidney, but I probably only need one anyway.

Just sat down to read next to my peperomia obtusifolia, and noticed this new development. 💚

📚📖 I’m way past my reading goal this year. I underestimated how often I would need to check out from reality and into some different perspectives, worlds and ideas. Thank you to my public library for supporting my habit and to many amazing authors for creating and sharing their work. ✍️🫶

Encounter each other
At the outer edge of desire
With almost hopeless mercy
And a reservoir of mutual respect

Risk every safety and every constant
For a single sunbeam of wonder
A golden reflection of a larger life
In the pure stream of the possible.

Crisp morning air and an ocean of clouds in the valley this morning. Must have been quite a pretty view from the top of the mountain.

The fall colors on my side of the hill, are a lot more brilliant after all the rain.

Just seeing this as I reach the page in “Is a River Alive?” by Robert Macfarlane, where he is sharing the story of Gilgamesh.

Started the morning holding a young yellow-rumped warbler after a window strike. Happily it just flew away. Plans for the rest of the day involve zero goals other than breathing outside and reading this book. Peaceful Sunday wishes to all.

Currently running through my head. Wish I had been in Saratoga on 7/15/16. Might be learning this one by ear. 🎹

Happy Indigenous Peoples day to all I should be able to call family, both here and afar. I feel both the existence and the loss of that history so acutely, nearly every day. It should have been so simple. If people could just recognize their common humanity. #humanrace

And cry I did, because that was such a moment. DMB is the most talented and beautiful group of musicians/humans. Life is short & I feel absolutely no shame in calling it like it is. 💗
