Spent the day around Bodega Bay celebrating an early birthday for my son-in-law. Visited the schoolhouse and church from The Birds, ate some great food, and hung out at Bodega Head. I took a little walk, and the first pic is me taking pics of the ocean. 🐟

Response sent to the White House. Summary: The planet doesn’t need an emperor dictating trade. Mainland Antarctica already has millions of Emperors, and even their droppings do more good than the White House’s globally destabilizing policies.

In other words, go take a long hike on thin ice.

Dinner on the river to celebrate the 18th anniversary for my daughter and son-in-law.

Spent my birthday yesterday in Sonoma, CA, browsing the shops and walking around the park. The rose garden was in full bloom. I love the smell of roses. 💐

Attended the Sacramento Cactus & Succulent Society show yesterday and picked up these beauties. The show continues all weekend and the grounds at the Shepard Garden & Arts Center look wonderful.

I understand why people want to live near the ocean. Being able to get up every morning and walk along the beach makes me feel like a new person.

Visited the Maritime Museum in Astoria, Oregon, today. Such a wonderful tribute to the Coast Guard for their rescue work.

Took a path less traveled today.

Lol. Why am I not surprised that Guy Fieri picked a convicted felon as a special guest judge?

Not sure how Sara and Lee Anne tied on randomizer. Why does this feel rigged?

Stopped to take in the view of Mt. Shasta today. I'm on my way up the Oregon coast for a week of rest.

A few of my favorite pictures from the Crystal Hermitage Gardens today. It was a beautiful day for a meandering walk through a garden.

There are few things more comforting than grilled cheese (with American and Havarti) and tomato soup. 🧀 🍅

Le Creuset did not disappoint. I purchased the gorgeous floral pot and small blue skillet - everything else was in my mystery box. The 2nd picture includes most of my daughter's haul. Thanks San Jose for a fun event!

Made it to San Jose for the Le Creuset factory to table sale. 🍳👩‍🍳

Gave demos of embroidery with alpaca threads at an alpaca show over the weekend. This guy/gal stared at the table from across the way with quite the attitude. Also, I learned about drop spindle spinning and might have gotten supplies to learn how to spin my own thread. 🪡🧵

I am so tired of stupid stuff in locked cabinets at stores. Went to CVS to buy toothpaste. After the cashier unlocked the cabinet, she had to take the toothpaste to the register because I couldn't carry it in the store. Ridiculous.

Unpopular take but, in retrospect, does anyone wish Trump would have won in 2020? Most of his presidency would have been focused on the COVID pandemic. We gave him 4 years to plot and scheme to dismantle the federal govt as we know.

Went on a goat walk today and found some new friends. Hiked in the mountains, hung out with goats and chickens, and relaxed by a bonfire. Highly recommend for unwinding. This was at Not by Luck Ranch in California. 🐐

Probationary employees are not always new. Accepting a promotion can make you probationary. Some long-time federal workers were fired, including veterans. This was a culling of the federal workforce with no regard for knowledge or skills. Absolutely heartless.
