They totally should bring these back. MAHA and whatnot.

The peanut butter ones were the best. They should bring these back, lol.

Evergreen.

It's a totally brilliant plan!

I think TX Dems are up for pretty much whoever. I think the TX GOP will take this and run with it in the general and are likely to be successful, frankly, even if they put up Paxton for their side. It's early, though, and I would love to be 100% wrong.

I feel skeptical. Especially in TX, I think the "he's a regular guy!" applies only to *their* regular guy, not the Dems. Willing to see, though.

I did some brief research for our city and it looked like the voucher amount would only cover parishioner tuition at a small number of schools and for PK-Elementary only. Middle school and High school seemed entirely out of reach. 🤷‍♀️

It feels similar to the Texas Education Freedom Accounts that we're getting for private school vouchers.

This is where I'm at. If the leader can't get the group to row in the same direction, then maybe we need a new leader?

There is no way, none, that the ACA subsidies get restored. I am livid that the Dems caved on this, for the promise of a vote in December in the Senate. Even if there is a vote in the Senate, 1) it's not going to pass and 2) the House will not bring it to the floor.

Amendments put up by the Republican-dominated legislature = automatic pass for so many TX voters. If those were advanced by Democratic lawmakers, I think the vote totals would have been mostly flipped.

My path crossed with Kate's briefly while she was working with H-E-B. She appeared to be a person of great integrity, working to improve the lives of Texans through her role. It is a shame that she was forced to resign and a loss for Texans.

I can think of a few exceptions but this was generally my experience too. Hashtag anecdote and whatnot.

I think about this (mostly in relation to the "men/boys are lost" rhetoric) & recall how the girls in my GenX HS (advanced/AP) classes busted our butts in class & extracurriculars to make ourselves college material, while most of the guys were coasting, even the "smart" ones.

$65 for tickets to take my family to a matinee showing (20% the ticket price). That doesn't include food/drink. It's so expensive for so many people.

"I've just been terrible," Betts said after Game 5. "I wish it were from lack of effort, but it's not."
Sounds like he's in his head too much, too. I'm not cheering for either team specifically, just thrilled to see some excellent baseball. I'd like to see Betts get out of his slump, though.

^^^ hilarious but true and maddening if it's your team!

I've been encouraged to see pitchers kept in for more innings/complete games and more contact hitting/moving runners/etc, but I do ultimately agree with you. Wish we'd keep seeing more of this type of baseball, though.
October 30, 2025 at 3:07 PM
I agree with this and am glad to see games played that show more than just "big hits." Every game this series has been great to watch. I think it's been a solid match up.

I'm not a fan of either team, but am loving watching these games. I think it's great for baseball!

I loooooove this movie.
