Software designer with 2x bootstrapped SaaS exits, building the customer support tool for modern SaaS (getfernand.com) + better email routing (improvmx.com)
Our pricing is super simple: one active seat, everything included. Unfortunately, some customers still only use a third of what’s available. I think sometimes it's because the feature doesn't totally fit their use case, but sometimes it's just because they don't even know it exists...

I finally shipped GitHub integration in Fernand ✨

Same DNA as the Linear one: stupid-fast and out of the way. Keyboard shortcuts for everything. Works from ⌘K + Sidebar controls.

Customer report → GitHub issue → fix → close the loop

I'm the one that picked all 365 images for our inbox zero UI in 2025, yet I'm always amazed at how my brain fights through the inbox to get things treated and know which picture will show today

I'm not even an inbox zero kind of guy

The human brain is so easy to manipulate

Superhuman-like inbox.
Mintlify-like knowledge base.
Chatbase-like trained chat AI agent.

@getfernand now does it all in one calm, human-first product.
Still only $29/user/month.

Inside the letter:

- What they've got this letter, and what Fernand is
- Why current helpdesk software drives people mad
- How we’re building something calm, fast & focused
- A link with 3 free months free for OMR attendees

No jargon, no funnel. Just honesty.

The key wasn’t just the costume. It was the envelope.

It had weight, a stamp, and a name.

People held it, looked at it, and opened it like it might be something important. There’s a little ceremony in opening an envelope.

That moment bought a few seconds of attention.

Why a postman?

Because that’s our whole brand. Fernand is all about delivering messages between companies and customers.

I just took the metaphor to the max: vintage jacket, flat cap, real envelopes: the whole vibe.

I dressed like a 1960s French postman and handed out 1,000 letters today.

A massive digital marketing conference is happening in my city this week: 70,000+ people, not far from our target audience.

We didn’t get a booth. I wanted to do something different:

What in the German bureaucratic fuck is that?

There's a law telling you should report incoming wire transfers above 12.500€ from abroad.

This is the registration screen asking for a reporting number, but which?

Bonus: you can only call the hotline from a FIXED phone line 🤯

Am I the only one who never made the connection that a11y also spelled ally? Learning everyday 🤯

Product leadership at Google right now:
"JUST MAKE THE AI BUTTON BIGGER!!"

I've been using Gmail for 18 years now, and never been that close to replace it with something else. Sad.

Today, we're releasing Shared drafts, a feature transforming how product teams collaborate when replying to customers. It's perfect for founders delegating their inbox to VAs or working with support agencies 🚀

We redesigned everything from scratch, introduced a management dashboard and the ability to add up to 5 domains and aliases for free, and then asked to upgrade for $9/m.

It was an instant success, and we started to see subscriptions rolling in the first hours of release 🤯

This is how ImprovMX looked like at the time. A super simple landing page to:
- Set MX records
- Create a catch-all redirection

Once confirmed, there was nothing you could change. No management portal. This was both the strength and weakness of the service. Simple, but limited.

Bon appétit. Paired with a Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022.

Life is good.

Polished the rendering of the pills, adjusted the contrast to be easier on the eyes.

Added dark mode support as well 🌚
December 7, 2024 at 5:43 PM
Made the pills a bit bigger, and added a selected state + color-coding to make the proximity between your selected draft and what you are currently editing.

Clicking back on the pill unselects the draft.
December 7, 2024 at 5:43 PM
Starting to take shape. Went for a pill like look that you can hover and see the content before you decide to insert, or not.

Cyril worked on a proof of concept while I was busy cooking the Wellington. This is how it looks now 😅

One thing we wanted from the start was multiple drafts, especially to anticipate AI drafts. Would be cool to have an LLM draft answer options you could pick from.

Roll it up, and bam

Let's sear this bad boy for that nice extra crust, add mustard, salt and pepper and throw it in the oven at 66°C until core temperature reaches 43°C

This is the piece of meat we got. Local beef from Schleswig-Holstein, around 1Kg.

Will trim the fat and make it into a cannon shape.

No worries, we are reusing the trims for lunch 😀 Nothing lost.

Transferred it to a bowl, added truffle oil and a mix of flat leaf parsley and thyme.

Duxelles are ready! I'll just put them in the fridge for it to cool down and form even more into a paste-like texture.
December 7, 2024 at 12:20 PM
Now deglazing the Duxelles with a bit of Sherry to prevent from sticking and give it that extra nice taste
