For years I defended DAI and now… it’s so very strange to see it held up.

DAI is about institutions and memory, and DATV is about the breakdown of both, DAI is hierarchical and DATV egalitarian, and the flavor of one builds on the other.
That some who attacked DAI for a decade now use it as a cudgel to hit DATV is unfortunate and boggles the mind.

All I care about for the Game Awards would be new trailers for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, Exodus, the Next Mass Effect (though it’s much too early for that), or a new property/announcement.
… and I don’t have to see the stream to watch any of the above.
