He asks her a riddle and she silently hands him 5 dollars. She then poses a riddle. He is flummoxed. He spends the next hour trying to work out the answer before eventually giving up and handing her the 1000 dollars. So then he asks what the answer is.

Reminds me of the woman sitting beside a man who wanted to engage her in conversation. Eventually he says they could play a game.. If he doesn't know this answer to a question he'll give her $1000 and if she doesn't she can give him $5. So having failed to stop his advances she agrees.... 1/

I have spent quite a bit of time looking all this up because there is a Twopothouse and a Twopot river but while Twopothouse and NEW Twopothouse are in the general vicinity of each other, Twopot river is nowhere near them. Meanwhile Buildings of Ireland claims an Oldtwopothouse...

Right but doing nothing at all is just waiting for it to happen at an unplanned time... it will surely eventually blow? I mean... unless the explosives really will become ineffective over time... the containers will eventually fail..

In fact having gone back to check which book came after "You only live twice" I see he in fact had been on a downward emotional trajectory from the death of Tracy to his own "death" and being sent on a suicide mission by M who hoped he'd die for real and solve them having to deal with him.

technically even the books did this - he 'dies' at the end of one only to wash up amnesiac on a beach, find a girl, settle down with her only to get itchy feet when he finds a word on a piece of paper that he recognises and off he goes again....
