Firstly, EVs (Waymo or otherwise) should be charging in the day; the grid is cleaner (mostly solar). This is how the utilities keep you hooked on natural gas. Secondly, the sounds should be suppressed at the docks from 10pm-7am. It is singularly annoying along with the leafblowers.

I agree with that but that's what I meant. All broadcasting stations that transmit Pox can be pulled for promoting untruths. It has happened before in Philly I think. Do it a few times, and journalistic integrity will return. Right now there is no consequence.

It's funny that you think you know what I'm feeling. Good for you. But I agree it takes the works to change the system. My plan is to not wait for a catastrophe, but prevent it as far as I can. Others in their blind ignorance can do what they wish if they dont want to listen.

Here's the problem - meaningful change takes more than one voting cycle. Heck, education takes 15-20 years to fix. So it requires an engaged voter base which with gerrymandering is hard. The only time there is a change at state-level is when there is a catastrophe, like when people are dying.

And the folks in the south continue voting for Republican idiots despite having the worst economy, the worst healthcare, the worst employment, the worst salaries of any state. So if one believes lies and votes for a thieving oligarchy, against one's interests, one is beyond help.

Another reminder, without the help of the Afghan locals, we'd have lost ten times more personnel in yet another stupid war started by a Republican president and his self-enriching vice president (Halliburton any one?).

There used to be a time when one travelled around the world and came across signs "funded by USAid" or "funded by the citizens of the US". I used to take pride in these since it showed the good we can do. Soft power is worth way more than military power.
