China's huge JUNO neutrino detector turned on three months ago, and has already achieved new levels of sensitivity in studying these mysterious particles.

The detector weighs 20,000 tons & contains 45,000 sensors watching for rare neutrino interactions. 🧪🔭

a orange speckled hyperiid amphipod sits inside of a little four tentacle jelly that is looking wose for wear - most of its internal structures have been eaten or ar least removed and it's tentacles are short.

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who was under house arrest serving a 27-year prison sentence for masterminding the Jan. 8, 2023, attempted coup d'état, was transferred Saturday to a detention facility after he tampered with his ankle tracking device. According to some local outlets, he had planned to seek asylum in an Argentine or US diplomatic mission.

Spotted this beautifully hairy #owlfly (Acmonotus incusifer) this week.

One of the Split-eyed Owlflies, it seems this isn't a commonly observed species. There are only 5 observations in #inaturalist with all of those in Western Australia.
