The thing is, he was "practicing politics" (air quotes). But he was doing it in such a bad faith, obviously confrontational way that I always found it a little pathetic that people took the guy seriously. He was an AM shock jock that too many people entertained with honest discourse.

My view? Continue to talk to people. Use whatever platforms you have to demonstrate grace. Model the behavior you desire from your community. People are looking around thinking the worst of the people around them, it's vital to try whatever's in your (generic you) power find reasons for community

I've had this same fucking argument with several Trump supporters. The only people this benefits are wealthy seniors who itemize their deductions. Poor seniors don't pay taxes on their earnings already, or don't have enough deductions to make it matter.
