When feral pigs are butchered, I wonder if PPE is worn? Or is there the possibility of aerosolization and blood to blood contact?

Feral pigs must encounter -- and presumably consume -- infected dead birds. Is there surveillance to see if these pigs are developing disease?

My understanding is that feral pigs are hunted. Perhaps samples can be taken from harvested pigs?
