So, I've been thinking about @scalzi.com 's post the other day about how AI just mines old human work so they don't have to be paid for future work. What happens when it runs out of old human work to mine (like Stack Overflow) because we all use AIs to get answers instead of creating new work?

the most frustrating part of my journey as a fic writer was the period when i was a strong enough writer that i could see a skill gap between my fics and the fics i loved most, but i couldn't figure out how to bridge that gap.
