Chair of the Wisconsin Elections Commission and I have opinions on election things. Personal Injury Atty. & I have opinions on law things. Posts are my own & I enjoy them.
If you are watching any of the incredible videos of the Israeli hostages reuniting with their families - they are all saying this prayer. It is a prayer we say in so many circumstances. When we start a new year, when family comes together, or, today, when a miracle has happened.

In summary: “Judges are entitled to absolute immunity for their judicial acts, without regard to the motive with which those acts are allegedly performed.”
(The chef's kiss to this quote is the citation to Trump v. U.S.) 4/

She has since been indicted under similar claims. Some as spurious as allowing a litigant to appear by zoom (something that happens all the time).
As Judge Sol Wachter said, a grand jury would indict a ham sandwich if asked. 2/

So 2 law enforcement officers, there to arrest an unarmed man, just watch him. Meanwhile, the man & his lawyer go to the elevators. Note this weird comment to try to make walking to the elevators sound nefarious: 7/

Then what happens? The two DEA agents SEE him and do [checks notes] nothing. They don't arrest him, they don't do anything. They watch him? 6/

Let's jump to the heart of the matter - the lede is buried at ¶33. Per the complaint, the judge apparently sent the man TO THE PUBLIC HALLWAY WHERE LAW ENFORCEMENT WAS WAITING. You'll note they sort of gloss over this part. It's as if he miraculously appeared there. 5/

As if the entire Hegseth / Atlantic reporter debacle wasn’t bad enough, consider that Hegseth was posting about targets, weapons and attack sequencing. He wasn’t typing that with two thumbs. He was copying & pasting it from what was likely a top-secret document that was on his un-secured phone.

Crochet. It starts out easy (think granny squares) & then grows into beautiful patterns. As you get better, you can do more complicated patterns (& learn to read the symbol patterns) which completely uses your brain & you can’t ruminate on work or politics! (A recent creation)

We’re off to a banner start w/Elon doing a Nazi salute.
And do NOT pretend that’s not what he did. He did it. He did it twice.
This is not some sort of Roman salute - nobody does this by accident. And he’s never done it before. It’s a Nazi salute.
Welcome to Trump 2.0

The funny thing about election lawsuits is that the conspiracy theorists tout every one filed, and are mum when they are dismissed for the most mundane of reasons like not naming a person if alleging a civil rights complaint.

Funny how when real electors meet, they do so in public. With the press.

The past few weeks have been rather chilly (20-23 degrees) - which means that walking out of the house this morning at 38 degrees feels delightfully warm!

This is a *very* weird choice of bullet points for an article on which public schools in Milwaukee are over-capacity. A Christian cross? Why? I’d tag the Milwaukee Journal but have no idea what their @ is.

The voters decided, & while I am certainly disappointed in the result, the numbers are real. Similarly, I was delighted to certify the election of Tammy Baldwin to the US Senate. The same voters who voted for Trump in WI voted for her to the Senate. Again - the voters decided.2/

Yesterday, with little fanfare, I certified the election of Donald Trump for the State of Wisconsin. Did this make me happy? It assuredly did not. But the certification of an election isn’t discretionary. I don’t get to decide who won or lost. 1/
