Trying to create the golden days of ‘the other place’
I’m sorry I don’t understand. I spent 15 years trying to get clinical staff to use health records. Today, again, at GP they took 2 lots of bloods for exactly same test. 1 for hospital, 1 for practice. In an environment where efficiency and productivity rule. I give up. #nhs #diabetes #GP

Lots of noise going on about the #nhs
Meanwhile I sit at my Mum’s bedside wondering why on earth they can’t use proper spoons in hospital?

Ear wax is hitting the news again.

Time to dig out @johnlauner.bsky.social’s article on it!

Personally I think money spent on ear wax removal is money well spent, and I’m sad it’s no longer provided free for people.

I’d pay a wee bit extra tax to help with that.

“Waxing lyrical: taking ear wax seriously.”

An excellent piece by @johnlauner.bsky.social on an important problem.

“No-one rattles collection tins in aid of ear wax, and there are no campaigns urging us to pay attention to the well-being of our ear canals”

Being an advocate for an elderly parent who has been swallowed up the the NHS system is one of the toughest things I’ve done in my life. I keep thinking I should blog about it but I’m too tired. We need new conversations about getting old.

Death admin. Really don’t know who thinks up these processes! Arere designed to make it as difficult as possible?

So car tax stops on death. How are we supposed to dispose of car?

We are dealing with it but I’m pretty certain death processes are not thought about to make things straight forward!

We are aiming to ‘downsize’. Husband is a hoarder. He has his own ‘room’ literally stuffed with ‘junk’*

*my opinion

For what it’s worth if you are younger don’t hang on to stuff you are never likely to need. Give it away.

I’m furiously trying to recycle his junk 😱

I am hoping that interactions here make it feel like it’s a place to hang out and learn and even share. Tbh leaving ‘X’ (what a stupid name) was a wrench but no longer the place it was. Fingers crossed as I love social media!
