I was feeling depressed today, so I wrote a little poem.
A Weight Without a Name There’s a shadow in my chest today, a quiet ache, a muted gray. No cause, no storm, no broken thread, just whispers stirring in my head. A heaviness without a name, a fleeting chill, a gentle flame. It bends my spirit, clouds my skies, a tear that waits but never cries. The world keeps spinning, loud and bright, but I am tethered, lost in night. Each breath feels caught, as though it knows a sorrow blooms, but never shows. It’s okay, I tell my silent ache, some burdens fall but never break. Tomorrow’s light may lift this haze, but for now, I’ll sit and face these days. For even sadness, soft and bare, is part of living, part of care. So let it linger, let it stay— the heart will find its brighter way. By Aubrey Regan
