Today’s old-fashioned tiny act of resistance was sending thank you notes to Senators Kaine and Warner for their participation in Senator Booker’s speech yesterday.

🤬New HUD website launched today-we hate the poor now, apparently, & so much for religion being a protected class under Fair Housing?! 🤬 Way back as a property mgr, I nearly fired an employee for putting a Bible verse into her email signature because it hinted at favoring one tenant over another. 😡

Today’s act of resistance- education on what we each can do, continuing to push back against my deeply ingrained sense that someone is in charge and everyone wants to help. Platitudes on posters all my life, that have not materialized.

I’ve been thinking about how many of us private sector folks still have to take hours of annual DOD cyber security training just to do our government adjacent jobs… 🙄

I think it’s worse than that- Check your Real IDs… VA’s don’t reference citizenship. My birth cert name doesn’t match my ID. If only about half of us have a passport, that means the other half wouldn’t be able to vote.

Today’s act of resistance was reading this EO so I can summarize: I’m confident almost HALF of Americans do not have an ID meeting this standard. I just checked-VA’s Real ID says nothing about citizenship. Birth cert name doesn’t match my ID. Only passport holders (apx 51% of us) would get to vote.

Today’s small act of resistance- advocating to keep our Company’s language assistance procedures intact so we continue to ethically house and serve low income residents whose primary language is not English. Just because we may not “have to” any more does not make it less right that we should.

Today’s heartbreaking but important small act of resistance: sitting down with my kids to apologize & make sure they know we are fighting back. They get a mass shooting, COVID, & now this administration. I don’t know what a generation’s “fair share” of trouble is, but they gotten way more. Cheers 🥂

Today’s small act of resistance: I canceled my Kindle Unlimited subscription. That one is gonna hurt a little, but we have a fantastic public library system, which deserves my support, while Amazon sure doesn’t. Also, the height of my physical TBR stack is becoming alarming. 😂🤷‍♀️
