The Brexit "news" never is @nick1webb.bsky.social

Brexit choices were always
1/ Trying to take back (border) control, meaning greater rocketing prices for far less choice & empty shelves
OR
2/ Giving up all semblance of control meaning
unilaterally advantaging the EU (their exporters) & smugglers

EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS BILL

The Labour party was supposed to implement the employment rights bill IN FULL, fire and rehire, zero hours contract, rights from day one all watered down.

Workers will feel duped. PART 1 ⤵️

Very interesting story from Robert Peston on Twitter.

It sounds like Labour very deliberately engineered a series of artificial, unnecessary storms in teacups in advance of the budget.

In a follow-up tweet, he mentioned that the beginnings of an official investigation are under way.

Fewer workers. Fewer international students. More people leaving.

A "step in the right direction" according to the PM.

Impossible to take PM/govt seriously on growth if they are deliberately reducing it (and making the fiscal position worse) *as a matter of policy*.

You only really see how fundamentally broken Britain is when you take the time to look.

Example: international postage. We pay much MUCH more to send letters to the rest of the world than they do to send them to us.

UK to anywhere else: £3.40
Other countries to UK: 68p to £2.15

Last year Rachel Reeves said that extending the freeze on income tax thresholds hurts working people & takes more money out of their payslips & she wouldn't be doing that because she was keeping her promises made in the manifesto.

So she won't be doing it today either, right?

Labour is turning Britain into an authoritarian state.

That’s bad enough now.

But imagine what a Nigel Farage government will build on all these authoritarian foundations.
