Lovely Thanksgiving w/ family. Got a big kick out of the dessert that came with the 3-course prix-fixe dinner at Rohr's on the Notre Dame campus. About the size of a small clementine, the shell is candy; inside, a pumpkin-cream filling like a stiff mousse, w/ a dab of cranberry jam in the middle.

Tonight's Blind Boys of Alabama show was an infusion of pure joy. Wade in the Water, Uncloudy Day, so much great music - and a smokin' cover of Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground that had the band in such a deep groove I'm surprised we're not still down in there. I needed that like you wouldn't believe.

Tonight's entertainment: the Blind Boys of Alabama at the Buskirk-Chumley. First time seeing them & looking forward to it. Love this venue - few bad seats in the house.

Home after a whirlwind Chicago trip - friends I hadn't seen since pre-pandemic and my first E Street Band show in almost 7 years. Many thoughts & feelings - I'll try to write about it, maybe tomorrow. For now I'm just going to relax & let the cats sit on me all night.
