Used to be over there, now I'm over here
Here is the back cover. I think the verb "anticipates" is doing a LOT of lifting to mediate between the actual text and an interpretation that minimizes Free's agency/frames her as reliant on Edward.

I am also struggling to reconcile the description of the cover with the cover on my edition, which is, I think, the only one the book has ever had. I don't see any text on the cover image that matches what is described here.

Courtney Milan's author's note for The Suffragette Scandal also really undermines the idea that the book is trying to say feminism is no longer vital because mission accomplished. I have a couple of screen grabs of key bits.

It's nice to see #5 on their author consignment policy. I am more inclined to support indie bookstores that take a clear stance against the use of generative AI in any part of a book's creation.

Oooh. I could probably do it for most Judith McNaught books, any 20th c Johanna Lindsey, or any Julie Garwood historical. Sometimes I have a hard time telling what might be a more obscure work from an iconic author. How about these two:

Castles by Julie Garwood
Perfect by Judith McNaught

I'm never getting rescued, but at least there will be antics and banter and the kids will do their absolute best (except for the ones looking for a loophole).

I'm going to break the exhortation chain, but here is a photo I took this summer.
