In celebration of South Asian Heritage Month, I pay tribute to Narendra Makanji, a former Wood Green councillor and passionate campaigner for equalities. His legacy lives on amongst us, alongside the remarkable contributions of the South Asian diaspora who shaped and continue to shape our community.

She arrived from Manila, Philippines in 1970 to train at Westminster School of Nursing. Connie went on to work in the NHS for 46 years, retiring as a Practice Nurse in Enfield & Haringey.
