My class researched college students' views on AI and found their peers are worried about the future AI portends but are more urgently afraid of falling behind when everyone else is using it. It's helplessness fueled by a sense of vulnerability - students know that "all that is solid melts into air"

Such a special way to end the year! I received the UNC-CH sociology department’s Wilson Teaching Award and my advisor @profkorverglenn.bsky.social received the department’s Grad Student Mentoring Award (SO well deserved.) Now onto summer and all the writing that lies ahead! 🤓
