There will be desperate calls behind the scenes, begging the Israeli government to withdraw the invitation. That may actually work, who knows. But it would constitute another refusal to see the Israeli government for what it is. It's not a bug. It's a feature. They are Tommy Robinson.
This Israeli government decision to host Tommy Robinson will widen the growing gulf between the Netanyahu government and the British public, including the broad majority of Jews in Britain (3/4 of whom dsapproved of Netanyahu, before this new link to this anti-Muslim racist UK far right convict).

This is a perfectly appropriate message in response to a horrific event, and the responses to this post are filling me with sorrow.
I am sickened by today’s attack in Manchester. Antisemitism is on the rise around the world, and we must do all we can to stomp it out. I am grateful to first responders and congregants who showed incredible bravery, and I am praying for those who were killed.

Re communal unity: What if I don’t want unity with people who support ethnic cleansing? What if I don’t think that’s a valid perspective to be treated respectfully? What if we should direct our energy towards building new value-based Jewish communities not fighting for our place in existing ones?
