Because sometimes a reminder is warranted.

And it's nice not always having to be the "reminder."

Did you know that, in so many ways, the Book of Deuteronomy is... liberation theology?

And that it's actually crafted as a bit of a 🖕 to the Assyrian Empire?

And that its power -- and its limits -- can teach us a so, so much about where we must be as we face down the Empire before us today?

@theradr.bsky.social explains the sin of Sodom, which sounds a lot like what is happening right now: refusing to feed and help the poor.
Sodom "had plenty of bread and untroubled tranquility, yet she did not support the poor and needy.” (Ezekiel 16:49-50)

I'll take any good news from Texas I can get.
I'll go ahead and say it. Texas book banners got their butts kicked in tonight's school board elections. Again.
Early results for Texas school board elections are starting to come in! Good start in Granbury ISD, where Christian Nationalist extremist Monica Brown is down 56-44! The rest of her slate is down early, too. election-night.decisiondeskhq.com/date/2025-11...

Tomorrow is the last day to vote early. There are 17 propositions for constitutional amendments on the ballot. Some of them are redundant and a waste of time and ink, but could be used in nefarious ways given our current political climate.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas National Guard to Austin ahead of "No Kings" protests planned for this weekend.

This summer, the Texas National Guard's presence in San Antonio was met by a fiesta complete with mariachi and conjunto music.

The stage was set for a photo-worthy showdown at the Alamo. Instead, protesters marched to mariachi and conjunto music and lots of honking.

NOTE: Black women lost 319,000 jobs between February and July of this year, the only major female demographic to experience significant job losses during this five-month period. white men gained 365,000

Folks, you can't report the United States to its manager. There's no superhero coming to save us.

We don't need one giant act of heroism. We need millions of small acts of solidarity. Help one person in your community for nothing in return. Then, do it again. And again.

That's the revolution.

Here’s my write up on the most racist decision to come out of the Supreme Court in a while. The court approved of Trump’s racial profiling of Latinos with Brett Kavanaugh saying being harassed based on the color of your skin is “common sense.”

The Supreme Court Just Gave the OK to Racial Profiling
The court’s ruling allowing ICE to resume its indiscriminate round-ups of LA’s Latino residents can only be described as one thing.
