KEIF return already includes case studies, but the time scale from funding to outcome is too short. They have to be in year.

Awesome! REF for impacts and outputs (impact being a pretty good process). PCE bit done through RAA so it can be more agile. If only someone would listen to us.

We have a similar approach now for KEIF/HEIF. Research annual report is not quite the same, but perhaps Research England could look at it as a model?

I really hope Santa is bringing me that t-shirt this Christmas 😂

I have some well documented concerns about the proposed REF changes but not sure forcing us all to comply with this week's government policy is a step forward. Might be worth casting our eyes over the Atlantic for why it makes me uncomfortable.

At the risk of making us all feel old, 1983 was over 40 years ago. Are you referring to the Thatcherite 80s cuts which really was some blokes in a room? That led to the more robust and documented process we have now.

Don't make me get out the 'Scotland* is different' (*see also Wales and Northern Ireland) tee shirt again. Which government agenda? Though given that REF is historic, are we supposed to demonstrate that we aligned with the last strategy or the future one?

I once came home, quickly fed my two black and white cats, went into the living room to discover one of my actual black and white cats fast asleep on the sofa. Cheeky interloper was still happily tucking in when I went to check.

I've never knew there was a Ponteland College of Education, presumably it was a Teacher Training College at some point?

I may go so far as to say the problem with HR systems is that nobody has actually worked out who the user is. At some point you realise it's not even payroll, it's the tax office.

Because, it's the only driver of performance that they have. And to quote my paradox of REF, they want a REF system where the measurement process doesn't drive behaviour but also one that measures changes in behaviour.
