He conspired to traffic 400 tons of cocaine into the country and was “at the center of one of the largest and most violent drug-trafficking conspiracies in the world.” He even said his goal was to “shove the drugs right up the noses of the gringos.” Now, thanks to Trump, he is a free man. 2/2

It’s now official: Trump has pardoned one of the world’s most notorious drug traffickers. Former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández was convicted of drug trafficking last year in the U.S. and sentenced to 45 years in prison. 1/

Remember in May when Trump gave asylum to 17 family members of the Sinaloa cartel after making a deal with El Chapo’s son? And did you know in 2013, El Chapo bribed Juan Hernandez- who trump just pardoned - in exchange for protection in Honduras? I’m sure it’s all just a coincidence.

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.

Well this explains something…
Prospera Honduras is a Zone for Employment & Economic Development (ZEDE) backed by Peter Thiel. Trump plans to pardon the former Honduran president who championed ZEDES b4 his drug trafficking conviction. Honduras current outgoing president has tried to eliminate ZEDES, an obstacle for Prospera.

It’s important to note from a military perspective that if a subordinate is about to give an unlawful order & his senior knows about it, it’s also a requirement for the senior official to stop him from executing it. And then counsel/discipline him.

So there’s that, too.

I can imagine the Navy being especially angry. The rule of the sea since forever (millennia) is that you *always* rescue stranded sailors. It doesn’t matter which side they’re from in war. It’s every mariners duty to perform rescue whenever called upon.

If blowing up survivors in the water was the right thing to do because they are “narco-terrorists” (trust us, bro) and deserve no quarter, why did we rescue two other survivors in a different strike, fly them home, and let them go free?

Fossil fuels are more expensive and far less efficient than renewable sources of energy and doubling down on them raises prices.

Trump’s efforts to revitalize the coal industry is saddling consumers with the costs of swaddling an expensive and dying industry.

We’ll see if Republican members of Congress will eventually be willing to treat this White House for what it truly is: a hot bed of corruption; a grift operation wrapped in the emblems of the state.

We can wait a long time. lnk.thebulwark.com/3KuNYPk

This is ridiculous. It was the first TRUMP admin which developed the cases against President Hernandez. His brother Tony Hernandez was indicted in 2018 and convicted in 2019, and key ally Geovanny Fuentes Ramirez was indicted in 2020.

Both were later sentenced to life in prison!
Leavitt: "The people of Honduras have highlighted to him how the former President Hernandez was set up. This was a clear Biden over prosecution."

Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

I was a *Religious Studies* major; in my time she would have been rightly BBQ'd had she dared to hand in this absolute drek.

Insane. Can I take Geology 101 and reject the final exam with "God made the world in 7 days" and get a good grade? Same thing.

If I took a religious studies course on Christianity and submit a citation-free essay ignoring the question, just asserting "Jesus is a false prophet", I'd expect to fail

By Dan Hollaway’s own standards, it should be acceptable to let all the air out of his tires and then drone strike him while he’s waiting for AAA
Pete Hegseth will face prosecution for real war crimes, not imagined ones, so there's no problem.

And come on, no one believes a podcaster is going to murder military police and martial court judges over one douchebag that's no longer in office.

"orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."
