the accessibility - or strength - of a voter’s issue ownership perceptions can predict how likely a voter is to vote for the issue owner. This probability is higher for those with strong (and thus more stable) perceptions

We demonstrate that voters who are quick to attribute ownership to a party are likely to stick to their assessment during an election campaign, while hesitant voters are more likely to revise it. This implies that issue ownership perceptions are not binary, but a matter of degree
